Create your own learning and movement games for SMARTfloor
Creating your own learning and movement game for SMARTfloor is very easy: In the following we will show you
step by step how you can use Scratch to realize your own
realize your own game idea with Scratch.
How does Scratch make it easier to get started with programming and promote creative learning with SMARTfloor?
Scratch is a visual programming language that uses graphical blocks, making it particularly well-suited for beginners. No prior programming knowledge is required, so even students from grade 5 can start with it.
SMARTfloor, with its movement-based input method, serves as a motivational tool and enables a diverse and creative learning environment.

Develop a game idea
Let your creativity run wild and develop your own game idea together with your class.
In our example, we have come up with “Ben”, who has to dodge falling balls. The more balls Ben dodges, the faster the following balls become. Ben has three attempts so that the learning and movement game doesn’t end so quickly. The player who has dodged the most balls wins the game.
Game Creation
in Scratch
In addition to the option of simply graphically adapting the actors and stage in the learning and movement game, Scratch offers all the necessary “building blocks” required to implement the game idea. In our example, Ben should only move left and right. To do this, we use the arrow keys to the left (4) and
to the right (6) on the SMARTfloor.
